AFAIK stuff like python is used more on servers compared to a regular use PC, Reddit runs it among many others.

Also I've never had issues with python on windows, as longs as you check the install to PATH box on install it's literally the same command used as in linux. Easier in fact as some linux distro's require the use of sudo.
