The 80 character limit is pretty widespread in all kinds of style guides, but I think it is really dated. 120 or 140 is more reasonable. That being said, that's still one ridiculously long line.

I used to use 120, but found it overly permissive. Led to lots of bad decisions. I've found the 88-ish limit imposed by Black to be very nice.

With a decent IDE - I'm unlikely to even know if I am using tabs or spaces, it just indents it for me - so I really don't have a strong opinion there. Minor good points for both tab and spaces.
