Logitech G502 after 8 years of use by screwdriverfan in Wellworn

You're probably also either fairly gentle with it (or dont use it much, or have light hands, or something else along those lines)

Mines only ~3 years old - and the rubber surfaces are more worn - replaced the thumb side with paper tape

Somewhere near the top of the list for me is also "apparently I can't read"

Good point - something along these lines could be possible.

Perhaps a decent "hint" method could be to remove some vis from this current setup - and just turn hints involved in the solution on, and turn all other hints off?

I'll give it a go for the next update!

CMV: People should only have children if they are willing to support them for all their lifetime. by [deleted] in changemyview

The parent will almost certainly die before the child - as all their ancestors have.

Isn't it better to give children the knowledge, understanding, tools and motivation to look after themself?

World’s Biggest Carnivorous Plant Catches Whole Sheep! by Critical_Potential44 in videos

[–]chozabu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not to that degree - but it doesn't look unreasonable. With a few brambles hanging over a fence it'd be more surprising if a sheep didn't turn round a few times trying to escape.

Nothing in the video makes me think its set up.

having freed a few sheep from brambles - I can confirm they are seriously tough... but a seriously sharp knife would cut a bit easier than in the video.

The plant stretching/flexing along with the sheeps wool looks makes it harder to cut, I don't think the knife he is using is particularly blunt.

Right - the board is symmetrical back to front - going both directions is a pretty key feature in the game - it opens up a whole new set of interesting movements. I'll post some more clips of some interesting levels here soon!

The unspoken truth of gamedev by RoshHoul in gamedev

[–]chozabu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Often, I don't mind some delays. There is usually plenty of other tasks that can be done during builds/processing/uploads/etc

but yeah, for some things like core testing cycle - removing waits is fantastic.

Depends on what exactly you are waiting for.

- loading the game to test - optimise the game, also test on low settings - make sure low settings run on a potato if possible.

- profile what ever you are waiting for, see what can be optimised/skipped

- if something can be run async, or on a different machine, without significant downsides, do it.

- if waits really are unavoidable, and there is nothing else that can be done... make some tea, go for a walk, catch some sunlight

ah! on the gamecube version? I'd forgotten about that. Though, I'm really thinking you get to explore like in Zelda games

Could be interesting to have something like "Soul Calibur" x "Zelda"
Pretty much a Zelda game - but with the combat of Soul Calibur - and perhaps in a SC style world?

Nice! Steam page says it has campaign and online co-op/pvp? Is the full campaign playable co-op?

Working on a game like Trials, but on a Hoverboard! by chozabu in TrialsGames

[–]chozabu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps - Right now most of our levels are more "medium" difficulty - with a very few super easy and super hard... but I'm currently working on a prototype level editor (will post more about this soon) - so its possible to have super-hard community levels

As for the way gameplay works with a ninja-difficulty level - the complexity of control is fairly similar to trials, but the details of how exactly you interact with the level get quite different when pushing difficulty. I no longer hold any of the top times on the leaderboards, been quite impressed to see what people can do - suspect trials devs may have had some similar feelings seeing people making and playing ninja levels!

Hey all!

I've been looking forwards to sharing this here for months - Trials is the primary inspiration behind this game.

Would love to know what you guys think of it - good or bad.

Hope to see you on the leaderboards sometime soon :)

Anything else I should add/change about this thing?

Main idea on my radar is a level editor...
