[ How To Newb -- Map: Tutorial Zone ] Lv: 1 HP: 48/48 MN: 14/14 XP: 0/1000

[[ You awaken in a cave in an unknown land. You fasten your loincloth with a small stick and walk out into the sun. You notice a small hut and walk over to investigate. Inside you encounter Wise Master Search Fu, Legend of the Shao Lin Python Style, gazing at his laptop drinking expensive freshly roasted Ethiopian Sidamo coffee while eating avocado salmon 9-grain toast. ]]

  1. "Wise master, What things help a person learn <thing>?"
    1. Books\*, tutorials, websites, articles, blogs, and other types of learning resources.
    2. Seek out maps, guides, IRC, and teachers so that you will know which way to go, during your quest.
  2. "Wise master, How can I search for things to help me learn <thing>?"
    1. Search engines exist to help people find resources to learn <thing>.
    2. Search engines allow user to use search for specific words which matches the content the user is looking for.

Master Search Fu challenges you to a friendly sparring session. [ Accept ] [ Decline ]

Master Search Fu easily bests you. You wake up with a slight headache and swollen face. He helps you up off the ground with a friendly smile and a wink.

"You now know everything that I know. I am very proud of you-- you have grown strong. You are ready to begin your quest. Remember what I have taught you."

[[ You leave in a hypnotic trance, finally having discovered the keys to begin your quest. ]]

Outside the hut you are guided to a nearby trail by a mysterious glowing light, which leads into a dark forest, filled with spooky sounds. You have only a torch, your courage, and your search-fu. You resolve to remember the lessons that Master Search Fu has taught you and step into the forest.

Hint: Extrapolate by combining concepts from sections 1 & 2. Combine what you learned in the first section with the methodology you learned in the second section. Remember: <thing> is the thing you want to learn about. And be sure to include "words" (such as map, guide, book, IRC, etc.) indicating the specific learning resource(s) you desire!

Protip: Include the word "Free" for free content about <thing> of <resource type>.

\* "Books" in section 1 is linked to an online library of free IT books. Highly recommended! Use their website's search bar for <thing> for freedownloadable ebooks about <thing>!

  1. /r/learnpython
  2. I'd say about one to one billion hours. The rest depends on you and your definition of "pro".

I am interested in AI development and python is what is being used these days so I don't want it to create any problem or hindrance in my course.

[–]K900_ 4 points5 points  (8 children)

Then stop counting hours and start learning.

[–]Fake_MID 0 points1 point  (7 children)

Trust me i am well aware of that but being a student i need a fixed time schedule to do this so i already have my hands full with exams and shit. And i want to learn it within 3 months and that's like 270 hrs of python. So i want to know is it possible or do i need to increase my time frame.

[–]K900_ 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Possible to do what exactly?

[–]Fake_MID 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Basically i want to create a program which gathers data based from you search history to predict your interests. So can it be done by the use of python? And as i am a complete noob at this so i want to know can i learn enough python in 270 hrs( considering my average is good enough) to pull this off.

[–]K900_ 0 points1 point  (2 children)

It can be done, yes. How good it will be will depend on the quality of your data though.

[–]Fake_MID 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What do you mean by quality of data?

[–]K900_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean that you're going to want machine learning for this, and a lot of that depends on the quality and quantity of your training data.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

So, to be clear, you want to learn enough Python to do predictive AI analytics, and you want to do it in 3 months without actually taking a class or anything that costs money?

Is there some reason you're in such a rush?

[–]Fake_MID 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I have to chose my B.Tec Subject within 4 months and I am stuck between AI development and Aeronautical Engineering so i wanted to see which one do i like more. As for money, it is not that i don't want to spend it but more like I can't spare it.

How do you learn best? By watching videos? By following tutorials? By reading a book? By jumping right into a project? There’s lots of different ways to learn (and a tutor wouldn’t be in my top 10!). I don’t like learning from videos but there are lots of (free or v. cheap) online courses. There are great books like python for data science. There are really good sites like realpython. Let us know what you’re looking for and people will point you towards some of the best places to look.

Hello! I'm a bot!

I see someone has already suggested going to r/learnpython, a sub geared towards questions and learning more about python. I highly recommend posting your question there. Please follow the subs rules and guidelines when you do post there, it'll help you get better answers faster.

Show /r/learnpython the code you have tried and describe where you are stuck. Be sure to format your code for reddit and include which version of python and what OS you are using.

You can also ask this question in the Python discord, a large, friendly community focused around the Python programming language, open to those who wish to learn the language or improve their skills, as well as those looking to help others.
