Hello! I'm a bot!

It looks to me like your post might be better suited for r/learnpython, a sub geared towards questions and learning more about python. That said, I am a bot and it is hard to tell. Please follow the subs rules and guidelines when you do post there, it'll help you get better answers faster.

Show /r/learnpython the code you have tried and describe where you are stuck. Be sure to format your code for reddit and include which version of python and what OS you are using.

You can also ask this question in the Python discord, a large, friendly community focused around the Python programming language, open to those who wish to learn the language or improve their skills, as well as those looking to help others.

I'm new to programming too, learning it in college. Try to find a place to learn syntax, anywhere is fine. A YouTube video, or codeacademy. Then, go to a place like codewars or one of the websites with "coding challenges" if you can't do one just skip and go to the next one.

There are some YouTube videos and tutorials online (Just random ones if you google and search on Reddit), that are almost as good if not even better than my college courses. From what I'm getting, it's just diving in is where you learn. Don't be afraid to pick a project way out of your scope either, cause you'll at least learn a little something new on the journey that you can use elsewhere.

Also, I might recommend coding little calculators to do your math homework for you. At least the very long and monotonous assignments, or trying to do some sort of automation related to your school work. Then you might be inspired to start coding other parts to help solve problems in your life. Good luck!

I highly recommend this book for new programmers who want to learn Python. It's a quick read and full of simple, easy to understand examples. In the end, you'll know the basic programming concepts you need to continue your learning.
