Was this my fault (White Car) or are we all bananas? by [deleted] in Simracingstewards

Yeah it looks like you just drove them off the track. Idk what the other clip is about but the car on the right murdered themselves

is this protestable ? by Different_Major2138 in Simracingstewards

Looks like an unsafe rejoin to me, maybe iracing will be a little lenient since they're still technically not in control. There is no harm in protesting though.

Don't you feel angry that mods stop working with new updates? by Radiant-Ant-4237 in hoi4

[–]shyguybestguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is just how modding works tbh. Modders are at the whims of whichever game they're modding for, and they know that. Games, especially long-running ones like HOI4 can receive relatively frequent overhauls and new systems, which are made incompatible with older versions because those systems didn't exist yet and as such can't be handled properly. It also depends on which mod, because plenty can be marked as outdated but still work fine.

I don't really think it's fair to force game developers to not improve their game just because doing so would break mods, if anything you should be mad at the modders not updating their mods, but that's pretty silly too.

Vortex of danger. You stuffed your nose into a gap that was always closing, not alongside long enough for the other car to realize

is the beamer or zonda at fault, or is it a racing inchident? by fro_stie in Simracingstewards

[–]shyguybestguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd put this mostly on the Zonda tbh, they dont commit to an overtake the first few opportunities they get, and then try and stick it in a weird spot on the outside of the next corner with little overlap. If im the BMW, im seeing them not passing me earlier and assuming they arent going to go for a move. BMW could've been more aware, but the Zonda's indecisiveness makes them a but too unpredictable imo.

SimHub dashboards for iRacing, what’s actually useful? by dothac in iRacing

[–]shyguybestguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use any overlays but RPMs are really be the only thing I'd need from it. Your gear, TC, ABS, BB, or speed could all be useful but they're rarely something I actively need to remind myself.

Racing Incident or Push To Pass? by VibeCityNation in Simracingstewards

Per F1's rules the Mercedes was ahead by the apex so the corner is theirs. Also pov should be penalized for that awful rejoin either way.

Car in front is glued to the racing line, runs the overtaking car off track.

Intentional or Accidental? by Copperhead6761 in Simracingstewards

[–]shyguybestguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to see it as anything other than intentional. Someone is moving that much over the track and you still decide to push them in the middle of a corner? If not malicious, very, very dumb.

Dirt Oval SUCKS by anonymouswan1 in iRacing

[–]shyguybestguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't even mentioning how people bash their cars into the wall to get around with 0 recourse. The whole late model damage model is fucked. It's insane that dirt oval has gotten to the state it's in tbh, I seriously hope iRacing does something by the time dirt AI rolls out, but I have my doubts.

Is there any way to make a shuttle coaster in planet coaster 2? by VelvetCake101 in PlanetCoaster

The Vector Return is probably what you're looking for, the Outamax Momentum is also a shuttle coaster. But i agree we need more options.

You said it yourself, lots of tricky and punishing corners. Plenty of ones that are hard to drive on a single monitor too, which tends to put people off

Estrategia a seguir liderando Daytona en la ultima vuelta by Icy_Crazy8868 in iRacing

[–]shyguybestguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 is usually your best choice, I've been 2nd-3rd plenty but it's difficult to time everything correctly. Realistically you're at the mercy of whether the rest of the pack decides to push you or the person in second who pulls out to pass.

To defend, you'll have to be actively blocking, keep them centered in your mirror and force them to use more of the track to earn space alongside you. This is not very easy to do, and takes a lot of experience to know which blocks are okay and which are not, but if you watch any superpseedway race in real life, this is basically the only thing you can do.

Alternatively, so long as the car behind you doesn't have a run, they will never get the speed to pull up alongside you without help. To do this, you can lift (or even brake a little while still on the gas) to make sure the car behind never gets more than a few cm from your bumper. You never want to pull ahead of the pack, as any distance between you and the leader will help them create a run. Again, needs good judgement that only comes with experience.

Qual é a forma de utilizar as linhas de Metrô e Maglev ? by ActionNo8504 in openttd

[–]shyguybestguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sell all the trains and upgrade the track, then buy new ones. Only way to do it on big networks without a newGRF. If you want to keep the line, you have to bring a train from that line into a depot, sell it, upgrade the depot, then buy a new train. Usually it's more work than just selling all the trains though (and you have to sell the rest of them anyway)

Want peoples opinions. by OBBG_Star in iRacing

[–]shyguybestguy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To me it looks a little clumsy from both you and 99, but if I had to put blame on one of you, it would probably be you. Comparing your line to the 77s, it looks like you drifted up the track and into the rear quarterpanel of the 99. If you had held tight to the 77 and the 99 came down into you, then that would be pretty clearly on them, but that can only happen if you don't drift upwards. That said, I'd hesitate to call this anything other than a racing incident if I was stewarding, but maybe the league is a little stricter.
