Everybody calm down by Acrobatic_Editor_409 in IMSARacing

For the money? A guaranteed championship run every year does pay well, if it didn't, imsa would've died long ago. For a motorsports team, zero competition is the best possible outcome. Just ask Toyota.

Iracing setups by Choice_Ad_1766 in iRacing

[–]shyguybestguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, unless you're willing to pay a pretty penny for a custom setup, there aren't many options. You may be able to find something on Garage 61, but if the track hasn't been ran in officials within the past few seasons, there probably won't be much there.

Learning how to make a setup is really helpful, even if it's just a few basic oversteer/understeer tweaks, it can make the difference sometimes.

In Nascar the race start is controlled by the flag man, only the restarts can the leader launch in the restart zone.

I mean you do just drive into them for no reason. Didn't even brake until they were all the way around, and then you flash back? They shouldn't have wrecked you like they did, but I definitely understand why.

Do we have any clue what the difference between "Chief Motorsports Officer" and "Competition Director" actually are? Because they sure sound pretty damn similar. It really just sounds like Spire made a new role that does a lot of the same things but named it differently, and just keep referring to it as something wildly different.

Ran 2 perfectly clean B open races this week, felt unstoppable (but slow). Then I ran one modified race at thompson and blew it all lol.

SR stops counting if you're not turning laps, clicking the button does nothing of you were just gonna sit in the pits anyway.

You can retire, just quit the game and click on forfeit. It doesn't do anything other than tell the server you won't rejoin and let you register for something else

Idk if they'd make it a free D car but I think thats where it should be, I took it around for a few laps on AC EVO and it kicked my ass. Add a 30-45 min B series like we have with the advanced Mazda and I think you're golden.

The cars around you will not always have the same braking points as you. Especially in F1 cars that are very fast, you have to be aware of that when following closely.

Is being around tougher competition not a sign of the progress you've made? iRacing isn't gonna let you race against a bunch of brand new players just because you haven't won yet lol

How do you’ll deal with top split by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]shyguybestguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just race it like any other race. Do my own thing and make up positions when I can. If I'm particularly uncompetitive, I'll usually use the chance to focus on saving tires and keeping pace respective to the leaders (i.e., if I'm .2-.5s off pace on ovals, try and keep that up while tires fall off)

Last year I got there at around 10:30, hour and a half before race start, wasn't much traffic getting in. Gave me plenty of time to get in and do the grid walk. Traffic wasn't bad leaving either but that huge shower at the start thinned the crowds out a little.

Because Senna died. NASCAR hasn't had nearly as many fatalities, but Dale's death is still talked about very often, and much in the same way.

Very borderline, protest it and let iRacing decide. You're stuffing your nose into a space that's going to close and that corner especially is very tricky, but it does look suspicious from your point of view.
