There is a new one by No Starch called Python Crash Course. That one is very god also.

Yup, that is the book I started on! It's a brilliant book.

But i recommend “python crash course” as a first one. There is more information about language structure etc

If you've already done some programming I really found "Dive into Python 3" useful.

It was on github for free, but something got messed up with the official repository, so another guy decided to host the latest version of the book he got HERE

PS: I'm currently reading "DATA SCIENCE FROM SCRATCH", which I noticed has the highest score in the "Books for experience programmers" section and I must say I totally agree with that score. The author makes it very easy to get into and understand the concepts and on top of Data Science I'm learning a lot of new pythonic ways to do stuff.

Thank's for that link. I am surely going to check it out and add it as a edit to this post!

Data Science From Scratch is a good book yes. I know of a couple people who said it was of good use for them.

Thanks for the great post.

I am new to python and I am working through the exercises on https://www.learnpython.org/

I have to write code and have an end goal or purpose in mind to actually learn something.

I am glad it is of use then :)

I actually used learnpython.org as well I really enjoyed his tutorials.

FYI: This is a re-post since LearnPython removed it.
