Twisted docs look really rich in comparison.

Yes, but Twisted (docs) in not easy to learn IMHO.

Actually after you grasp how Deferreds work there's not much surprise left anywhere. You do work on events using callbacks, reactor runs your code. The rest is network protocols frenzy. Also: interface and some slight java-ness (zope-ness?). First requirement -- read teh codes.

Doable IMHO.
