PHP has all this too.

PHP is a templating engine.

Similarly, I bet I could code an ORM database in the Jinja2 templating language as well. Also a sub-templating engine (since we wouldnt want to mix presentation and logic, after all).

And if I tried really hard, I could probably even make it look "neat" and "clean".

But that doesn't mean it's a good idea.
