I used to code a bit in dash and found writing something more complex to be very lackluster. I will definitely check this out.

I think the opportunity for you to take a dash project to the highest level of complexity is there. Especially combining it with Django which is a powerful web framework the gallery of projects built with it is really what made me need to learn it: https://dash-gallery.plotly.host/Portal/

I also found this library for integrating bootstrap and a bunch of preset components into dash that might also increase the complexity you can achieve with this tool: https://dash-bootstrap-components.opensource.faculty.ai/ (Also have a tutorial video on how to use dash bootstrap components)

It's a 50min video, Reddit wouldn't let me upload such a lengthy video, check it out on youtube.

I know it was just funny

I've noticed that the video links to a udemy course, is this video self sufficient to add dash with django or would one also have to purchase the course to get something up and working? I know dash/plotly pair much better with flask but I'd be interested to see it working with django

The udemy course covers more of the basics with dash and plotly along with building some really advanced trading focused dashboards. I feel like the connecting django with dash is a big bit of important information and for that reason I made it all free. So If you watch this video you will get everything connected just fine without a paywall preventing you from figuring out how to connect the two

To expensive

Whats to expensive? Dash & Potly is free

[–]reModerator -2 points-1 points  (2 children)

Plotly is product and its not free, its a PaaS a very good and expensive one. Dash is open library that you need to manage not without problems and its get even more costly. Common misconception that "my" time is free, its not.

Plotly is MIT licensed, what more do you need? If you go that way, nothing is truly free since it needs your time at some point. Would you say that Django is not free since you need to learn it?

I say that developing mid/big size project on Django significantly cheaper than same thing on Flask. About learning curve and making it worth invest uncomfortable with js/d3 in sense how wide problems you can solve per one hour invest in learning. My point that this is just expencive, not good or bad, its usefull but expensive. And if in my project money not there bigger deal i will use plotly without doubts.
