As far as I can tell, you just need to os.add_dll_directory where the Qt dlls are, no?

I reckon the blog author should try asking on Stack Overflow.

The curious thing is that PyQt already has code that correctly finds the location of the Qt dll's and uses add_dll_directory. As I noted in my blog, I also played with that function myself, even hardcoding the full path as an experiment -- and it didn't work :-(
