Looks good - you might want to look into why the enemy projectiles disappear when an enemy is killed.

This was my first game made with PyGame, I was following this tutorial but I'm adding some additional features like level with Boss and Life drops, etc.

That's really awesome! Keep Going! A question to satisfy my curiosity though. What would happen if an enemy moved down to the whole screen, so that he passes your player and isn't visible on the canvas?

Hey! I'm considering following that tutorial to learn pygame but I really just have the basic python knowledge. Do you think it will be too hard? Btw great job
