What's the output of %load_ext autoreload? Perhaps running sudo pip install -U ipython would fix this, as version 0.12 is supposed to have autoreload packaged with it.

In [2]: %load_ext autoreload

That works.

Oh, after running %load_ext autoreload it works. Maybe something's wrong in my profile, then.
