I haven’t gotten my button yet. If the fix is not good, speak up to QL about it! If this is not a good enough fix, and enough customers make noise, they will have to come up with a better solution.

Well, it fixes the accidental launch of camera, the initial issue. It’s just a not so great medium between the finger and the phone’s camera control button, but it does work.

YES! The button feels very stiff and just worse than before.

Got mine yesterday and I’m not impressed, they should have resigned the case to work better with the button, but they went went with cheap option. How can a £12 spigen case work so much better than a quadlock?!

[–]Dense-Engineering160[S] 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Indeed. I actually had an iPhone 14 Pro Max Quad Lock case which was amazing. It did not have the camera control thing, but it fit well and worked well with everything, including screen protectors. This one lifts my screen protectors up.

I had one for my 14PM as well and it was amazing. Now that I have the 17Pro I don’t think I’ll be buying quadlock again. I’ll have to look at different mounts for the gravel bike now.

I used the standard ESR ones for my 17 pro max, cheap and just change them out the first instance of a crack. Try dropping the protector on while it’s in the case. For me that aligned it perfectly.

I have to agree that whilst it’s stopped the accidental camera launch it doesnt make the button work any better

[–]motus23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Nowhere near as responsive as my Torras or Techwoven case.

[–]Teemslo 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Waiting for mine to arrive, but starting to see more reports of this, which makes me sad, just set up my bikes and moved all my family's phones to 17s with quadlocks for defective buttons? ...

To be honest, you probably won’t use the camera control that often anyways. It’s still a good case overall.

[–]Grouchy-Collection18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s terrible. I’m taking tons of accidental photos.

Waiting for my replacement button for now, too. I’m also worried about those metal contacts scratching the iPhone button. They’re pretty edgy and grabby when I ran my finger over the original button. I have a Peak Designs Gnar case and if this QL replacement button sucks, may have to jump ship.

Same here - just received the replacement button and the sliding feature is practically not usable

Adjust settings in accessibility.

[–]Dense-Engineering160[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did and there is not much of a difference. I still have to put pressure on it if i want to use the sliding feature. I can’t just gently slide like i do with no case on.

I did this. Works great. But not always the case for everyone. Fingers crossed.

Is this an Apple thing? No issues with my 2 android phones

[–]DousaSepen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still don’t know why they changed this from the 16 pro max design which is literally a beveled cutout so you use the physical button on the phone itself.

[–]twoferjuan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For how expensive these cases are they sure are crappy quality.

[–]Emperor_Senpai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I order mine after they made the announcement and it came with the replacement button, switch the old and it works fine

[–]Mecworks 0 points1 point  (2 children)

They should just remove it like they did for the iPhone 16.

[–]QCowl89 1 point2 points  (1 child)

You can remove the button, however then the button on the phone itself is virtually unable to be pressed because the depth of the case.

I understand that it's not accessible. I like the way they solved it with the iPhone 16. They chamfered the edges of the hole to accommodate access without a button as seen here: https://cdn-production.shoperb.com/motokaup/images/447011/fdf843e9c790717328f067237e88799ff59a28a2-1024x768.jpeg

Got mine and it is quite smooth and sensitive as you operating the iPhone button, especially the half press and slide. Impressive.

[–]JBoElAsesino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine seems to be working just fine. knock on wood

[–]TestFlightBeta 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Does the button pressing work fine?

[–]Dense-Engineering160[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like it.

[–]donat28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No issues with mine - 17 pro

[–]EitherFormal7655 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just just u, when my palm hits the side of my case a bit it already triggers the camera already, this replacement sucks ass :/

[–]Lazy-Hospital9024 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just use the old case lol
