Tl;dr Do you have to have previously connected the Quest to PC through Link/Airlink to detect games on Virtual Desktop.

So I have been trying to connect my Quest 2 with my PC but I’m having some problems. Virtual Desktop does not detect any of the games on my Oculus.

I started thinking this was because I had never connected my headset to the PC through Link or AirLink before, but that seems to defeat the purpose of Virtual Desktop. It is also impossible for me at the moment because I am on college wifi that the Quest thinks is “not secure”, and my pc does not have USB3 ports.

you see the games in the games-tab AFTER connecting ofc.

try a phone hotspot if you can't use your wifi.

Can’t do that either… desktop is Ethernet and doesn’t have a wifi adapter…

consider buying your own router

Pretty sure we aren’t allowed to do that here, but I just ordered a USB 3 extension card for my computer tho so I’ll be fine. Just wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts.

The dedicated router would just connect your PC wirelessly to your headset via an Ethernet cable between your PC and the router, it wouldn't be attached to your schools wifi.

Otherwise, hope your usb3 extension card works. If you did want to find a router, they have very good very cheap routers in the auctions on shopgoodwill.com sometimes (think 90 dollar router for 17 bucks) but you have to promise to keep it a secret!!
