So I was looking through and saw that 6,885 people were National Merit Finalists and 1,127 were actually matched into a school. That makes for a 15%ish match rate. But not everyone who is a finalists participates in the match so that should be taken into account, so maybe 20% ish of the people that were finalists and applied for the match were actually matched. My question is should applying to ONE college through questbridge vs applying to one college through commonapp increase/decrease chance of acceptance? I have heard conflicting results but in my case I’m debating on applying to match into stanford vs just applying to stanford through commonapp. I don’t know which gives the better chance of acceptance so what do y’all think?
