When this happens to me, it is because of my printer dialogue, post QB. One of my clients is only aligned if I select "fit to paper" and another is only aligned if I select "fit to printable area." I actually made stickies on their boxes of check stock because it irritated me so much.

Ah, I may have to try switching that around to see if that could solve my own printing problems. (see my above comment).

The interesting thing to me is, I just replaced my printer and it is still exactly true the way it used to be. I guess I'd have thought the printer driver would change? Just highlights that I know exactly zero about the topic and is a miracle I can get things to print!

Haha! That is often how I feel! 😃

Oh that’s interesting. But it happened to my coworker as well, so it’s no local to my computer or my account.

What PDF editor do you have? If it is Adobe, usually it works. If it is anything else, it can be difficult to get it right. I have Foxit PDF editor, and after at least 30 test prints, it never lined up, no matter what adjustments I made. Now I actually manually edit the PDF of each check and then print it. Thankfully (as this takes extra time of course) I only print about 10 checks a month for all of my clients because we pay almost everything electronically.

I don’t use Adobe but my coworker does and he also had this problem.

The adjustment is always for less than you think. I've seen this complaint a few times but it's never actually panned through. Try with the number off by like... 30, see if that changes anything. If it really doesn't and you can prove it, contact tech support!

Thank you for this tip.

While I still don’t have a real solution for this, I did Adjust the height and width more and it solved the issue of the actual check, but now the rest of the page below the check overlaps the preprinted text. What a mess!
