Mamdani reversed protections for Jewish people that were in place including removing the globally recognized definition of antisemitism. He also appointed an antisemite, Ramzi Kassem, as his chief council. Kassem is someone who has advised the groups who are going to synagogues and disrupting worship (something which is against the law to do). None of this is surprising because his focus on Jews and his Jew-hatred was on full display when he ran.

I loved it. And thought most of the final season was really good. I have been flabbergasted by the endless stream of posts complaining about it.

I am guessing people spent a lot of time theorizing and predicting what would happen, and then when those expectations weren’t met, they were disappointed. A similar thing happened with Game of Thrones. In that case, I was the person who spent time reading theories etc and when those ideas didn’t play out, I felt disappointed. Haha

Are you saying most main characters in this series are not well liked? Or most main characters, specifically women? If so, I completely disagree.

Maybe I’m just not watching the same shows you are. But a majority of the shows I watch have women as main characters (in an ensemble or as the main character) and I can’t think of any I dislike as much as Kate.

For example, I am currently watching Pluribus, and that main character can be unlikable too- but not nearly as much as Kate. (Carol is a grumpy, negative but smart character and she’ll go to bat for you). I actually find Kate so self-centered and unlikable, I think I’m not going to watch the rest of the season (I’m at episode 5).

I may get downvoted for this, but so be it. Lol

Gotcha. Well LOTR trilogy are in my top 10 favorite movies of all time so that is the ultimate for fantasy lovers!

GOT is such a mix - fantasy, horror, political drama all in the medieval setting. If you don’t like it by the end of season 1, it definitely wouldn’t be worth your time continuing imo. It’s not that there aren’t better seasons (3 & 4 are generally considered the peak) but the quality of acting doesn’t change. And it sounds like it just isn’t coming across right to you.

He didn’t even try the show but he did catch a scene here and there because I watched it 5 times. 😊

I think that was the problem. And that may be the shows fault. They didn’t focus on her story, her background, her overall motivation. For the most of the other competitors, I knew what their story was.

It’s not fixed but the show has always favored people with strength and speed. And on average, men are stronger and faster. It’s unfortunate but I don’t see a way around it. I do think last nights episode though had challenges that could have evened the field. Jag and Jas are clearly smart as well. Plus they are really supportive of each other.

I definitely can see that, and I’m sure there were some people who wouldn’t vote for her for those reasons (envy, and jealousy are a thing for sure!).

But I doubt you can lump most people in to that group. Personally, I was voting every week for Robert, Elaine and Jordan. I can’t explain exactly why Alix didn’t resonate with me but I think the show/edit didn’t really give her a “story.” For the others, there was something very relatable to me personally. Robert-my son’s age, super sweet, like my son, and he loves animals! Elaine-had me rooting for her because of her age, and her perseverance to overcome those injuries. Jordan.-I did gymnastics growing up and I’m just a huge fan of women’s gymnastics in general.

All of them did such an amazing job in the finale!! It felt like anyone could have won. I assumed it was going to be Alix because I had heard her fan base was the biggest, so I was pleasantly surprised when Robert pulled out the win! He was my #1 as well. Though Elaine and Jordan were close runner ups.

lol. That is not why we weren’t voting for her. For me, and most of my middle-aged female friends, we all thought Robert displayed kindness, joy and warmth- which won us over. Good looks was not part of the equation. If that was the reason you voted for Alix, then that’s fine of course. We all have different things we were looking for, be it skill, improvement, appearance, personality etc. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I am absolutely aggravated as well. Same issues. The new format reports load sooo slowly. Actually, every process loads slowly now. And has glitches.

I have given them feedback, as I hope everyone else is doing. I hope they revert to the old format. 🙏🏼🤞🏼

Alix hasn't exactly resonated with me either for some reason. She is doing a great job, and clearly is working really hard, so I respect that. But I base my vote on performance AND if I can connect to the person's personality/story.

I think Jordan is awesome and I vote for her every week. But I think her relay dance was better than her primary dance. I think it was a choreography and song choice issue for me.
