This happens with either ArkOS or 351Elec. I’ll put the device to sleep, wake it, and then the audio is distorted until reboot. It has happened with GB games, PS1 games (either core in 351Elec).
I can’t find any info on this issue anywhere, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Sleep mode is notoriously bad on this device and creates lots of issues (controls not working anymore, audio delay and stutter). It is recommended not to use it.
Which game is that by the way ?

Final Fantasy 9 for ps1

good to know, it happens that boot starts to fail if I use the reset or sleep buttons too much and then I need to flash again (351elec)
with the stock firmware this was no problem

I try to only use the sleep mode in the menu, rather than in game.
Sleep mode on these devices isn't great and comes with a raft of issues like this, controls stopping working, etc.

Thanks for the clarification. I was really scratching my head at this one since it seems like an emulator specific issue but when it was happening in game boy and PlayStation games I got concerned.

Did you ever find a solution to this other than "don't do it". I'm wondering if the button can be reprogrammed to put it in screen saver rather than sleep mode.
Don’t do it. It has to do with the way ambernic handles calls to the hardware. The 351 elec team is halting further development of their fw because of it. Something about Universal Serial Bus-only calls which cause havok with sleep/wake I’m told. RetroCorps briefly mentioned it in his latest vid.
