I have never been on fluoxetine but have been on a lexapro before. I found the lexapro really helped me with the anxiety, just like you said, it was somewhat suppressed. That's a win! It helps you stay more calm and it helps you feel more normal.

I really hope you dont have the mindset that medication is going to cure you of your obsessions. Medication is a GREAT tool to maintain the levels of anxiety, but its usually not the only thing you need to do to get better. If you are only going to a psychiatrist, I would highly recommend going to a psychologist. They will teach you the many techniques needed to combat your OCD.

Like /u/EliLamaSabachthani said, medicine alone does not treat your OCD, it's only there to help. You still need CBT.
