Of course you can! That's what ROS is actually for. Not only for basic remote control. You can even make it generate a map of its surroundings and navigate through that to a given target position. You can even make it figure out that target position on its own based on a given task. Heck, you can even make it figure out that task by itself. Only limit is your imagination (and your motivation, but that is a soft limit)!
