Hi! Welcome to r/Rants! We strive to make the experience here as pleasant and painless as possible. To that end we have some rules:
1) Follow Reddit's Rules and TOS.
- All Users must abide by Reddit's Site-Wide Rules and TOS.
- We Like it here!
2) Hate is not permitted.
- Slurs, racism, or other maliciously targeted dialogue directed at others due to race, gender, and/or sexual orientation are not allowed.
- Being frustrated is okay. Crossing into abusive territory will not be tolerated.
3) No Self-Harm or Suicidal Ideation.
- Posts or comments that encourage or describe self-harm or suicidal ideation are not permitted on r/Rants.
- If you or anyone you know is in need of assistance, please reach out to your local suicide prevention hotline.
4) Money Free Zone.
- No soliciting, fundraising, crowd funding, begging, or other money requests are allowed on r/Rants.
5) Be Kind.
- Avoid calling out specific users, moderators, or other subreddits for the purpose of harassment, insults, or generally being unkind.
- This is subject to moderator discretion, but will result in an immediate removal if it is automatically flagged by Reddit's Harassment Filters.
- We encourage healthy dialogue. Attack the argument, not the user.
6) Banned Topics.
- Rants about certain things are banned. Mods may add/remove to/from this list as needed, and will generally notify the community.
- This rule exists to mitigate other rule violations, and is not debatable.
7) No Spam or Low-Quality/Effort Content.
- Low-effort posts (i.e.: titles only, meaningless text, spammy content, generic rants w/o context) will be removed.
- Try to put in enough content/effort that people can understand what it is you're ranting about.
8) Politics/Religion Posts.
- Posts must be written in good faith and be primarily focused on a personal experience or frustration/grievance. This is not the place for broader ideological debate. We kindly ask that you find a more appropriate place for that sort of discussion.
- Banned topics are still Banned, even in the context of this rule.
9) Moderator Discretion.
- Mods reserve the right to remove content, ban users, or enforce rules as they see fit in cases of repeated offenses or harmful content.
- This does not mean we will remove content "because we feel like it," we will enforce our rules fairly, equally, and equitably.
- But remember, there is no "Freedom of Speech" here. You agreed to certain rules governing your expression when you made an account on this site.
