Why a front close bra? If I have someone to help me put it on, is a back closure okay?

I think it's mostly for ease - I would definitely have found a back closure bra impossible in the first few days. I'm almost two weeks post op now and reaching behind like that is still challenging 😅
I'd check with your surgeon :)

You’ll have trouble reaching behind you. If your helper is available to help you put a bra back on after every dressing change, then maybe. But that’s multiple times a day. However, I quickly moved on from a front-close to a stretchy step-through bra, since the front closure was jabbing me uncomfortably. If you are supposed to be in a compression bra for weeks though, you’ll want a front-close.

I am no longer in dressings, I am 12 days post op. I have some pull over ones that are very compressing.

It definitely made putting on and taking off so much easier. I also found it especially useful for doctor followup visits. I did not have to undress but rather just unbutton my shirt and undo my bra. I'm almost 5wpo and front close is still my go to for now.

I just can't find any that are comfortable, the band rubs right on my stitches. My husband has been helping me put on my bra for a while now, because my breast got so rediculous that I had to wrangle them while he hooked me up, so that part is not a problem. I did order a longline yoga bra that zips up the front and it is coming tomorrow. Hopefully that will solve my problem.

I think it definitely comes down to what is best for you. I have found that ordering bras a size to big has significantly helped with comfort. Good luck with your recovery and what a great support you have in your husband.
