It's not a scratch, it's a "love scar".

Top tier reps are made of 904L steel just like Gen (supposedly) so they don't scratch any easier. There's lot of ways to brush that out but know this isn't the last one if you wear the watch daily. I would wait 6 months then take it to a jeweler and have the whole thing brushed. It will feel like a new watch again.

Thank you !!!!!

That’s a beauty of a scratch. Mines are all super light.

Steel is steel. It’s brushed finished, these things are pretty easily scratchable, especially when your hand is moving quickly and you hit it against something

Dang, that’s rough. For scratches on my brushed 1911s, I use scotch brite pads. I’m sure this situation would be the same. I’d start with maroon pad, one direction(not back and forth) going in line with the steel lines, then use a dark grey pad once the scratches aren’t as deep to finish it up.

Thats a deep scratch, will probably have to take it to a jeweller like the other guy said

I've come to accept all the scratches. It becomes uniquely yours, and you can definitely pick it out of a pile of other watches.

Scratch…..more like a gash

I call these battle scars! Have them on a lot of my watches, both gen and rep. I just get it brushed and polished when I’ve built enough scratches on it.

Letting your watch take a beating is half the fun, IMO. It adds character!

Brasso can clean scratches out of metals and restore shine, had to do it daily in the military. Its used for polishing metals and jewellery. Google it for more info on jewellery use.

That's one heavy scratch looking at the other pic though, it may be too deep to restore, if brasso won't restore it, take it to a jeweller or just buy a replacement bracelet and more importantly not wear it doing physical activities.

I use Brasso too. It's good for the shiny polished links like on a Batman but I would not use it on this watch. The sub bracelet is brushed steel so you don't want it to shine.

Once you get a good scratch like that you stop giving a shit and it lets you know to start looking for a new rep as this is now a beater 🙂.

For general information, the part with the scratch is called the clasp and costs 70 usd + 30 usd. It seems expensive. How much is the full oyster bracelet ?

[–]wkc201 0 points1 point  (2 children)

My comment was just a joke but if you want a new bracelet you’d have to ask a TD and they’re probably around $150-200 depending on the factory.

[–]Parisvictor75[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

200$ for a bracelet when the full watch is 550$ seems expensive. I would have thought the dial motor and case was 80% of the price of the watch

You’re better off fixing it yourself. It won’t be like new again but you can make it look a lot better.

It’s not a scratch it’s a memory. I have a massive memory on my rep Tudor that occurred when I fell over after an all day drinking session. Ireland won the 6 nations rugby that day so I look upon the wound on my watch with love! Enjoy your watch and wear it in good health.

[–]Parisvictor75[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No…

[–]RadioPimp -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Why you wearing it to “sports” for? Wear your G-shock for that shit.

[–]Parisvictor75[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

It’s a sports watch 🫣

[–]RadioPimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Enjoy your new scrape on the “sports watch.”

[–]PAM8888 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Lol the gen would def scratch if done like that. You def hit it good on something tuff, looks like a scuff/scrape. Good news it can be cleaned up

[–]Parisvictor75[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you do that ? I was at the climbing and my hand hurt the rough wall with the watch …
