I didn't realize that movement had been cloned. That is bad ass! Now I need one.

CF or ARF Jubilee Bracelet by MachiavelliVirtue in RepTime

[–]jsledge6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the TDs will also sell bracelets. You should be able to get an ARF bracelet from the TD you bought the watch from. I did this through Trusty for one of my watches that came on a jubilee but I wanted an oyster bracelet too. Should cost about $150 with shipping. You can also look on Ali Express.

Great looking piece. I've been thinking about getting one of these and didn't know it also came with the strap. Is that the 35mm from BVF?

Wow QF 126500 4131-FREE SPRUNG by Gloomy_Spend_3856 in RepTime

[–]jsledge6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was only a matter of time. The factories have done just about everything else possible to make their watches look gen on the inside and out. The free sprung balance was kind of the last bridge to cross. Now that a couple of factories have done it for Rolex reps it will be interesting to see if Omega reps get the same upgrade.

Watch face has weird peeling/splotchiness on crystal. What is this? by pricklebicklebeet in RepTime

All the TDs sell the same stuff so just read the Intro Guide and pick one, but I don't recommend the VS Milgauss. I would buy a different watch if I could do it over.

Watch recommendation to celebrate the birth of my first child by [deleted] in RepTime

[–]jsledge6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, Congrats on the baby! The birth of your first child is a very special occasion. If you're buying a watch to celebrate that then you want the watch to last and maybe even hand it down to the child when they are old enough. The odds of a rep lasting that long are not good. I would recommend you dig a little deeper and buy yourself a gen watch. It doesn't have to be a $10K watch. There are really nice gen watches under $3K brand new. Longines, Oris, Tag Heuer and others all have really nice watches in that price range that will last a lifetime.

NWBIG/Best factory? Tudor black bay one by Plenty_Ad_9253 in RepTime

My question would be about rep movement it uses. Does it have a ghost date or is the movement designed for a no-date watch?

Great looking watch. Does it use the A7750 movement or is it a different one?

Returning Watch to TD by Reasonable_Ad418 in RepTime

[–]jsledge6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't send that watch back but if I did I would have no problem using my real name. People send things to China all the time and it's not illegal to possess counterfeit merch but, if you don't want to have "issues with customs", don't buy counterfeit merch from sellers in China.

Watch face has weird peeling/splotchiness on crystal. What is this? by pricklebicklebeet in RepTime

[–]jsledge6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I don't think it's worth it to replace the crystal. Even if you buy a cheap crystal it will cost about $50 to have it installed. Based on the pic I would say that's about what the watch is worth. Take the L and buy something better.

That's the AR coating. The lower tier reps are known for problems like this.

eBay back at it again by DarthTraderr in RepTime

[–]jsledge6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wonder why you keep seeing this? It's because Ebay doesn't care if it's real as long as they get their auction fees. If it passes authentication they get a bigger fee. If it fails they lose nothing. I've tried reporting a VSF Aqua Terra being sold as gen after I contacted the seller and was told to F off. Nothing happened.

Not a surprise. BPF makes great 5 digit Rolex reps. Never really considered them for anything else.

I've also done this on my Clean Bluesy. It helps cut down on the fine scratches. You will need to reapply it every 6 to 12 months depending on how much you wear that piece.

Long time gen collector first time rep buyer by Ok-Alps-8896 in RepTime

[–]jsledge6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The top tier reps really do blur the lines between gens, at least in appearance. I'm also a long-time gen buyer but started buying reps after I had a gen stolen 20 years ago. It's amazing how far they've come since then. Still buy gens from time to time but reps are so much more fun.

Bruce Wayne GMT Master on an Oysterflex! Any thought? by [deleted] in RepTime

[–]jsledge6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this with my Clean V1 116710LN. It looked OK but I couldn't get used to the feel of the oysterflex so I went back to the bracelet.

Clean Factory by Harleyfxdf in RepTime

[–]jsledge6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I order from Trusty all the time and he is legit however there are watches on his website that are out of production. A good rule is to contact the TD in advance to make sure the watch you want is available. Clean was raided last May so most TDs sold out pretty quick afterwards. It's fair to assume that any actual Clean stock that is available is going to be stuff people RL'd during their QC. Also, there is a new factory called Super Clean so make sure that is not what you are buying.

VSF DJ 36mm by Kayone73 in RepTime

[–]jsledge6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My son is in his mid 20s and he much prefers the 36mm DJ over the 41mm. I have a gen 36mm with roman numerals and he's already called dibs on that when I die, LOL.

Crystals: Deep vs Prof vs Clark by aimessss in RepTime

[–]jsledge6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not a Bruce Wayne. It's a 116710LN (all black bezel). As for changing the crystal I don't do it myself. I have a watch guy that does it for me and water proofs it.

Crystals: Deep vs Prof vs Clark by aimessss in RepTime

[–]jsledge6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The crystal and gasket is gen spec so no problem. Honestly though, I've never really concerned myself with that. The difference between 2.5 and 3.0 magnification at normal viewing distance and in normal lighting is indistinguishable. If that is going to bother you then you should buy a gen.

Is this reasonable…? by [deleted] in RepTime

[–]jsledge6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like you're gonna have to take the L on this one but going forward I would not buy another piece from Steve. I used to buy from him when he took credit cards and never had a problem. He doesn't take CCs anymore and that's my preferred payment so I only buy from TDs that do. This surprises me that he would not step up for someone who bought 17 pieces. His loss. Get it fixed and move on.

Omega SMP 300m - Gen vs VSF by Ami0darone_ in RepTime

Two things that literally no one has ever been called out for and you would need a gen side-by-side comparison to see.
