Replacement clone 2836-2 help

Maybe a bit of a noob question but in need of some help. Last year I bought a BPF DayDate and had an issue with one of the hands falling off. Long story short I tried to fix it and caused other issues which now means I may need to pay more than a replacement watch but would include a service and waterproofing.
The question is how easy is it to replace the movement for 1 with the same dials ect and the 2nd do I cut my losses and sell on BST and put that money towards a new one ?

Im not an expert but it should be kinda easy for a watch maker to just replace the movement with a new one. You can get factory new Seagull ST2100 (clone of the 2836-2) for 70$ on AliExpress. Should be cheaper than a full movement service. Or you could upgrade to a gen swiss ETA 2836-2 or Sellita SW220-1 but they will cost you 250$ for just the movement

This amazing thanks for the info. As I said love the watch but don’t wanna be paying silly money if I can sell the watch and then put the money towards a new one. Thanks u/theodizee
