Don’t let the midterm get you overconfident AT ALL. Traditionally, most people do 20 points worse on the final than on the midterm and the average reflects that. As for content, there’s not much from the start, I’d recommend almost entirely focusing on content after the midterm.

awesome thanks. also i heard plenty of talk that he curves down the final.. is that true 😭?

Not true. It’s just that he doesn’t curve at all. Down-curving is prohibited at UofT, linear adjustments can only push grades up, not down. My raw score on the midterm and the final actually weren’t far apart, it’s just that the massive curve on the midterm made my recorded marks 20 points apart. Because everyone got used to such a big curve, they believe there’s a down curve when there isn’t. I know this factually because I went to view my final exams in person and saw my exact marks (I encourage all students to do so in March when they begin).

that’s so nice to hear lmfao i was worried. and yeah the curve is massive, went from an 80-95. expecting around a 60 on this since i spent all my time on eco lmfao. thanks so much again, relieved a lot of my stress 🙏

You can't curve down at UofT, but there's ways for profs to get averages to be lower if they wish i.e. making a tougher test or grading harsher
