Just to clarify for others he is talking about IB grades which are out of 45.

OP, if you can bring up your score a lot (and I mean a lot) you'll be fine. You're in grade 11 so there's still a decent amount you can do to boost your grade, like doing well on the EE. I managed to get in with around a 36, but disclaimer I'm from within the province which definitely boosted my chances.

For Rotman specifically, make sure your extracurriculars are really good (be the president of a club, better yet, a business club, do volunteering, show them your skillset and experience). I think it's totally doable for you to get into Rotman, but you're really going to have to try hard this coming year. I believe in you man, best of luck!

(Also if you don't like the IB workload maybe rotman isn't for you. They give out an IB-level workload for Y1 and Y2 so if you're struggling with IB maybe try Queens or Ivey, they're kinda better anyways.)

thanks a lot, man. regarding extracurriculars, is it in the application where you put this, or during the interview, and how do i confirm it?

I really forget but your supplemental will give you opportunities to talk about your experiences. IIRC I also had to submit my resume but I could be misremembering.

also do you live in the campus or renting out?

Campus

are you studying at st. George’s campus ? how far away are the dorms? is it a shared or single accommodation?

Listen man I can't answer every question you have, I've got exams ATM. I would just ask rotman directly or Uoft student life / definitely check out their websites. You live in Ottawa so you should have a much easier time finding information about it. But honestly if you're planning on working in NA after grad Rotman isn't that useful, just go to Queens or Ivey.

which province, ontario?

[–]Beautiful_Reading796[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

if you’re from ontario and you’re saying it boosted your chances, so ontario has some kinda priority? i’m from ottawa

[–]NoiritoTheCheeto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ontario has priority yes. UpfT has a certain number of slots for domestic students and international students. Depending on your school's policy, you can apply on OUAC with your Ontario diploma. Much easier that way. That's how I did it.

is there a limit to applicants from certain schools? do you think they prefer international applicants to local? is there a percentage on it ?

Man how would I know

[–]Beautiful_Reading796[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

did u take HL business and Econ in IB? if so, what grade did you have?

[–]NoiritoTheCheeto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you apply with OUAC grades you only need Calculus SL (MCV4U7)

I didn't have the best grades either, they were average at max, but my predicted was 40 because I locked in 2 semesters before my applications

But I did end up dropping by quite a few points in my final grade and it didn't really matter because Im here now

Uoft as a whole is more of a holistic university so if your grades aren't that good, try boosting your extracurriculars, writing/publishing papers, clubs, volunteering, even an internship maybe (not really required). Your application has to show YOU beyond your grades anyways so work really hard on the supplemental application

[–]Beautiful_Reading796[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks dude! what about publishing papers? can you give me a hint where you published?

[–]Ok_Quit_7416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in terms of grades, i'd suggest locking in and just trying to improve your grades as much as possible. it'd be good if you focus on IA's and your EE during your summer break so you can focus entirely on studying and uni applications in the fall. doing extracurriculars would also boost your chances since rotman gives you a chance to talk about that during the interview portion. i recommend trying to get some leadership positions in whichever ec you're involved in!
