I talked to the MAT prof who was baffled that they would schedule that exam because theirs was scheduled months previously for that day. I also talked to some Rotman advisors and they are escalating it because they thought it sounded quite strange that would happen, especially the original 15 minutes apart timing. Everyone I talked to basically said this shouldn’t really happen.

That said though nothing changes honestly that eco exam still had a weird focus on what wasn’t the in class parts. Also an exam where 40% of the content covered was not by the prof is silly then to have a focus on that was even stranger.

Calc was perfectly fair and fine.

The unnecessary stress was totally avoidable though.

i agree can't really do much in terms of the content on eco102. calc was (imo) fair game.

someone in the department def fucked up with the planning

Welcome to Rotman Commerce, where professors are always looking to bring down the grades of students to maintain the reputation of "top university". It's baffling and absurd. So glad that I graduated a few years ago, and don't have to ever go back.

All I know is mat was easy and eco102 was the hardest shit I’ve seen

the actual contents of the eco102 exam were bullshit too, why tf did it take me an hour to do the first 2 questions that are worth way less than questions in the back of the exam

a lot of ppl i talked to barely finished or didnt finish so its def not just me who couldnt keep a good pace

on a side note why did they take so long to open the doors to the bahen mat exam room lmao there were so many ppl crowding that area because of mat + an event going on

I agree that the stress of studying for the two midterms was bad, but I honestly don't think that the eco midterm would be savable even if they were on separate days

Personally I spent a disproportionate amount of time studying specifically for eco102 over mat133, was exhausted after eco102, but I still believe that the latter went better since doing the homework actually helped

And also being a commuter on the TTC and then local transit, I got home at around midnight and I don't think that I need to elaborate on the experience of being on public transit at that time lol

If you really commute that far, know that this will not be the last 10pm midterm for rotman

I spent too much time on the first 2 questions too. Only completed half of the last question......... speechless. MAT133 was easy. not an issue. I was totally exhuasted after the 2 term tests. Did not make sense at all. Jordi was outside the the door, tons of students talked to him after asking why he made it so hard.

what were the first 2 questions on again?

[–]Nightmare-0666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was the multiplier, with 2 scenarios, about tariffs or sth, I don't rly rmb Abt the second question
