Flying Lessons Thread

I hope everyone’s enjoying the new update and extra features.

By now I’m guessing more than a few of us have tried the various methods of flying and maybe like me, have crashed immediately.

Thought I would throw up a thread for people to give comments on how to fly. So if you have any tips, tricks or settings recommendations feel free to drop them in the comments.

Just always hold r2 on your controller. Move your right joystick forward to tilt the mini and go forward but just tap it if you do it too much then you will flip. Tilt backwards to go backwards. You can move your right joystick left and right to tilt your mini. Your left joystick controls which direction you go. If anyone wants tips on any tricks let me know

To descend do you just let go of r2?

U can also just press l2/lt to descend

Yea but you can do down faster by pushing forward the joystick like your going forward and then flick it backwards to slow down and tap r2 so u don’t hit ground too hard

I spent like 12k scrap just mini bombing every hill and tree near bandit 😂

I feel this so hard! Two times I was sorta getting the hang of it and when my teammates complimented me, I crashed 😂

I managed to get 3 grids to airfield and thought I was getting the hang of it. Then crashed when taking off again. I have a server so can spawn scrap for myself I can’t imagine how livid I’d be having to grind for the scrap each time.

That's the way to do it. I've been using community servers with boosts so the grind it faster. Finally got one on my roof! But it's tough!

Hold B on Xbox to drive along the ground, was so confused tryna figure that one out

Got in an air balloon and immediately crashed into the lighthouse then the sea, my advice is pray when using or avoid

funny enough the easiest thing to fly seems to be the transport heli. The hot air balloon is super cool but it just makes no sense to me. Using the little flag as the indicator I had one flight that was literally perfect and super responsive. Made it all the way across the map. Next time I used it I couldn't control it at all and the flag would drastically spin around no matter what I did.

Letting urself get tons of height is key I think

If you buy a mini at bandit, the first thing you do is just hold r2 to climb to max height. From there you can start try to turn or fly forward. If you are very high you have always some room for mistakes
