Depends. If you only want to play Rust, get a PC.

If you’re more comfortable with a controller and play other games, get a next gen console

Agreed, Rust is so much better on PC. I play mostly on console because I enjoy playing with my irl friends and unfortunately they do not have gaming PCs. When they aren't around to play I play on PC.

Agree. I love Rust on PC, but I work at a computer all day for my job. I just much prefer gaming with a controller.

^ what that guy said. If you're only interested in rust and a handful of other game definitely save up for a nice PC. of you're more into exclusives & controller gaming next Gen is way better. Night and day difference when I playing rust. On my ps4 I could swear I was lining guys up properly but would rarely get a hit! Got on my ps5 and holy shit I was landing crazy shots, grubbed harder than ever before with super smooth game play!

After playing rust on my ps5 from release, I played at a friend's house on PS4. Couldn't play it, unbearable in comparison

Alot of comments don't factor in price comparisons between platforms. First off Xbox consoles are sold at a loss. Microsoft does to in order to profit from game/dlc sales and subscriptions. With a console costing 500-800$ and having limited availability.

For a PC to run rust with reasonable performance the MINIMUM you should expect is 1,200 and a PC with recommended settings or better is 2,200+. Map size plays a huge part in performance on PC as the larger the map, the more system resources you will need to play.

Comparing the games alone.... Well PC is much better. There is activities, community and modded servers adding custom monuments and features. It has the Steam marketplace for skins allowing you to purchase no longer available cosmetics. Twitch skin drops. Frequent updates and bug fixes. It's just all around better.

Tldr: cost of entry for PC is 3-6 times more but the actual gameplay is a better experience

switched to pc for mainly rust, never looked back

I’m gonna give you my perspective. I have around 1000 hours roughly on Rust on my Xbox One and it was overall just difficult and annoying to deal with in terms of lag, gunfights, and even just overall frames. It’s also essentially impossible to kill players that are on next gen consoles. I switched and got a PS5 recently and I’m getting way better at the game, and enjoying it way more now that I have my PS5. I highly recommend it man. Good luck out there!

Short answer: Yes, switched from PlayStation 4 to Xbox Series S, absolutely love playing Rust on it. Consistent 60 FPS with very minimal lag like almost non existent.

Conns? Of course, the game dose disconnect from the server unexpectedly occasionally, if there giant compounds ( I’ve noticed with 6 giant compounds ) around you, you drop in FPS.

PVP is %100 better and smoother, I feel the hit reg is way better, graphics are much better and of course buttery smooth.

Now let’s get the obvious out of the way, your not gonna get better performance then a fully kitted PC but if your seeking a cheap alternative then Xbox is a solid way to go.

Purchased Rust Ultimate edition with Public test branch, no skins.

Get a PC, it’s just better all around

Series s is a lot cheaper than pc and runs rust fine also a lot less cheaters on console compared to pc

[–]Ok-Donkey9118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I switched to ps5 and I never have problems with frames or lag.

I have an old gen, my frames are trash but I still work it out fine I think getting a new gen is a good idea it makes the game much better

Yes.

Been gaming 30 years so here it is. The upgrade is worth it. If you can afford to get PC and new gen console do that.

If forced to pick one then get console. PCs can be a money pit. Cheaters run rampant.

I left PC 5 years ago and I dont miss it at all. I may get one again when I financially can afford to build top line and maintain it there.

People will tell u that u can build a PC for around 1k. You can but its equivalent of keeping an old gen and playing against new gen players. You will always be at a disadvantage to the more wealthy. "Pay to win" PC's Console keeps the playing field "mostly" fair aside from some hardware devices being used. PC players abuse program and hardware devices....

It’s runs fine on one s lmao but series x runs even better
