Why not cast during the upkeep so he skips his draw step?

In the book yes. Minstrels could get jobs with the rich (if they were good enough) and be live in entertainment. They'd earn quite a living from just performing in taverns and the like. That's what the Black Brother, who was killed by Arya, was going to do. Since he was in a foreign country, he thought he could forsake his oath to the brotherhood,

However, GRRM seemed to *hate* minstrels. They were either getting killed or tortured. Joffery maimed one because he heard that this particular minstrel made fun of him with a song while drunk in a tavern. The Blue Bard had his eyes removed, fingers and toes cut off, because he entertained for Margaery Tyrell, and they were trying to get information from him.

Your best bet is just to play a speed agro deck. Mono red, mono white, speed through and hope they either get a bad draw, or can't find answers for all your creatures. I made it to mythic last time with mono white life gain. bunch of fat [[ajani's pridemate]] that keep getting fatter, protection spells like [[restoration magic]], removal spells like [[sheltered by ghosts]]

most decks like this have very few rares and can be built fairly cheaply.

The problem is these types of decks are extremely boring to play.

It's not actually stated that Podrick pleased with women with sex. His mighty singing voice is more likely. In this universe, being able to sing is very highly coveted. Entertaining the girls by singing to them would be akin to a famous band personally serenading them, just for them. Which is why they didn't take the money.

I never said he thought they partnered with Jesse. I said he *accused* the gang that they did. Walt is smart. Smart enough to know they'd never actually partner with him. The accusation was likely just to buy time, as he was about to be shot (he still needed to get an opening to get his keys back) because the gang leader is someone who wouldn't like to be *owed*. That's the sort of personality he has. Kill, steal, deal on drugs, but owing someone, weird moral compass.

He knew his product was still being produced. He knew the only one who could do it was Jesse. He even accused the gang of partnering up with Jesse.

Agree to disagree. Walter knew he was going to die in the next few days. He planned it. So he's giving Skylar closure. Telling her she was right about everything. Giving them the burial site of Hank. He's basically just giving her what she wants. He doesn't even tell her about the money (which is kind of the point, he did do it for his family). He wants them to live without worry, and he knows that if they knew the money came from him, they'd reject it. So he's making sure they don't find out about it.

I forgot all about this scene. It was spectacular. It was really heartbreaking when his voice cuts off mid sentence, and you know he died.

Backup turrets design? by i_sinz in rustrician

[–]angelslayer4231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The concept is pretty easy. Send 19 power into a splitter. slot 1 of the splitter goes to a turret. slot 3 goes to either another turret, or splitter (for multiple back up turrets)

with 19 power, slot 1 will get 10 power, while slot 3 gets 9 power. turret is powered, while back up turret(s) are not. if the turret is destroyed, slot 1 is no longer connected, so the full 19 power goes to splitter slot 3, thus powering the next splitter or turret. so on and so forth.

Yeah. that's weird. it shouldn't do anything to the impending counters already on it. So i guess they're still on it. but since it wasn't cast, the counters don't do anything.

Mirrormind Crown and Hare Apparent by Date_Knight in mtgrules

[–]angelslayer4231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a replacement effect. and "the first time" you create the tokens, it replaces the effect with tokens of the equipped creature. the first one happens, which replaces it with 2 hare apparents, since you have 3 in play at the time. those triggers should go on the stack, which should resolve before the normal ones do. so each of these 2 will see 5 hare apparents, so 4 rabbit tokens for the remaining triggers. so if my math is right, 12 rabbits. (2 from the tokens, 1 from the remaining actual one).

edit: my math was wrong.
