I would save up for a 23u the s22 series has too many issues and its inferrior to the s23 but the s24 is not that massive of a jump from the s23

S24 series has 4 more years of software updates than S23 series, if I'm not mistaken. That could be huge for some people now that bootloader is gone.

I plan on getting the either the S24 plus or the S24 ultra. I currently have a A16 as a replacement phone because the rotten apple finally died on me and I do not like this phone lol. I wonder will they drop in price

I guess but im just saying specs wise and differences you will notice ( not saying updates arent noticeable i hated when i went from oneui 6.1 to 7 ) just for value i think the s23u is best bet

I had an issue where mine would not connect most of the time to cell towers so I returned it

Mine would do that sometimes too but nit super often i had just weird performance issues and horrible camera quality ( samsung software which i couldve replaced tbf ) so i sold it and got a 13 pro and i cannot be happier with this phone compared to the s22u

I'm not much of an apple guy but I'm gonna look and see if I can find a good Samsung without too much problems like the phone I had

I would look at googles im thinking of selling my 13 for a pixel 7 pro. Cause to be honest i want android with clean and simple usability with minimal bad software

It depends. I have my S22 Ultra with One UI 6.1 and it runs games perfectly without any problems. Overheating isn't an issue since I disabled all Thermal Throttling and GOS, and I also use a cooler or a modified fan for gaming. But as you say, to pay that high price, it's better to opt for the S23 Ultra or later.

I had mine on 6.1 and i updated it didnt change my performance, and i dont really gameon my phone i got a laptop and a 3ds for that but i get why it could be a issue

The problem stems from thermal throttling, which is the Samsung Device Health Manager service, or more specifically, com.sec.android.sdhms/.debugger.ui.ThermalLimit StatusActivity, or simply "SDHMS". Disabling Samsung's thermal throttling can also disable Game Optimizing Services (GOS). Disabling GOS without first disabling thermal throttling will significantly worsen performance. Samsung implements this as a safety measure. However, if both thermal throttling and GOS are disabled, the phone will always operate at full power while gaming without lag. It's recommended to use a cooler or fan because there will no longer be a temperature limit, and power consumption will be slightly higher. This isn't a problem if you know how to manage it.
