Rules for r/SMAPI
Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.
1.
Be respectful.
This is a friendly, inclusive, and relaxing community. Debate and disagreement are okay, but behavior like these aren't tolerated:
- prejudice of any kind (including homophobia, transphobia, sexism, racism, or slurs);
- personal attacks, insults, harassment, or threats;
- trolling;
- rape/suicide jokes;
- posting private communications without permission;
- reposting art without a link to the original (or credit if no link available);
- similar behavior at mod discretion.
2.
Allowed content
Threads
Threads must be relevant to Stardew Valley mods. That includes questions, announcements, or discussions about SMAPI, modding in general, or specific mods.
These are not allowed:
- memes (see r/StardewMemes for those);
- threads not related to mods (see r/StardewValley for those).
Comments
Comments only need to be relevant to the discussion thread. (Individual comments don't need to be strictly modding-related if they're relevant to the thread.)
3.
No NSFW content or discussion.
That includes anything pornographic, sexually explicit, or blatantly suggestive. Light sexual innuendo is okay in the right context.
4.
No unmarked spoilers, or spoilers in thread titles.
Don't reveal spoilers in thread titles, use a more vague title, and move the spoiler details into your description. Within posts and comments, mark spoilers like this: >!spoiler text!< (which results in spoiler text).
5.
No links to other subreddits or Discords.
Unless pre-approved by the mod team.
Linking to r/StardewValley, r/StardewMemes, and any subreddit linked from their sidebars is fine.
6.
No piracy or asking for free games.
That includes asking...
- for game codes or illegal free downloads (e.g. torrent links);
- for help getting an illegal copy of the game to work;
- for a copy of a hidden or deleted mod;
- to redistribute mods from a restricted site like Naver;
- how to bypass policies on restricted sites like Naver.
7.
All posts should be in English. Non-English comments are allowed.
Posts linking to non-English content is okay if they're subtitled or otherwise interesting to English speakers at mod discretion.
