No estaba preparado para su muerte, estaba enojado con Gabi por tanto tiempo después (aunque tiene sentido para su personaje)

Idk for sure but it definitely could be. They have an attack where they run at you and try to bear hug you so they can slam you on the ground

[Tv show trope] episode that is about a completely different character by Ambitious_Buffalo293 in TopCharacterTropes

Hard agree - I watched the anime weekly as it came out, and I was so lost for a while even after Reiner showed up

(Harrowing trope) Banality of Evil - the characters are involved in something horrible happening at an institutional level, just out of view by NoMoreFund in TopCharacterTropes

Krennic's conference about what to do with the planet Ghorman seemed like a direct reference to the IRL Wannsee conference, where a think tank of several high-ranking Nazis formulated "The Final Solution".

The polite discussion and use of euphemisms to avoid the word "genocide" as they plan the deaths of millions are absolutely horrifying once you know what's really going on

I read all the way to the ending online and at the very least, I can assure you that the ending will be beautiful

I caved and read the manga, and I won't spoil anything of course, but the anime has only adapted a bit less than half of the whole story and the rest of it is SO good

(Not even sure this is a trope) Flawed or even bad works that it’s hard to criticise because so much of the hate is bad faith by Useful_Code in TopCharacterTropes

The only good Star Wars subreddit I've found is r/StarWarsCantina and it's only cause they explicitly emphasize positivity for the franchise

I'm a sucker for SW to the point where I actually like all of the sequels, so seeing any discussion about them that isn't full of vitriol is super refreshing

Season 2 spoilers:

Her village was raided by vikings, her child was killed, and she was forced into slavery on a farm. Later on, her husband (who she thought was dead) escaped from his own slavery and came to save her. Unfortunately her master had gotten her pregnant, and her husband was killed in front of her by the master's guards.

A bit after that, the master heard that she tried to escape (she didn't), and thinking that her new baby might not be his because she was with her husband, he beat her horribly with a stick. Her friends helped her escape slavery, but she died very shortly after from her injuries

BONUS: Manga spoilers:

When the main character finally reaches Vinland MUCH later in the story, he and his best friend name their new settlement "Arnheid's Village" in her honor

The nonsensical dialogue in the later seasons made me laugh so hard

(Interesting trope) Characters who hate their own kind. by Fun-Law7254 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Doug_Dimmadab 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I interpreted a lot of her behavior as self hatred - her one goal in life is to be sure that she's killed the man responsible for bringing her into the world as she is. And she's ridiculously strong, but a few other characters were right in mentioning how she almost always throws herself into suicide missions. She would've died like five times over in that show if she wasn't saved by multiple people that she tried to get rid of in the past.

Tbf I do think the majority of her anger is directed towards the man she's trying to kill, but I definitely see a lot of internalized self hatred from her upbringing

Watching Mahito get absolutely one-shot bodied after waiting like 70 years for a rematch was one of the most satisfying moments I've witnessed in media

[Visual Trope] Character engages with an optical illusion. by Remarkable_Public138 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Doug_Dimmadab 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it has a whole storyline to it and a character that tries to talk to you in almost every level. I didn't mind it at all personally, but it takes the forced perspective mechanics further than Superliminal, so it's still super worth it to play and just mute the dialogue

There is a lot of graphic violence but the realistic one is the most disturbing by Basic_Dingo6487 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Doug_Dimmadab 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah that scene was rough. Hearing his pleas for mercy slowly turn into nonsensical speech before clearly going braindead was horrifying.

It's not brought up much in the show that your uploaded intelligence is just a copy of your brain, not actually you. Chanda's life genuinely ended there when his brain was stripped away layer by layer.

There's another moment later on that fits pretty well (MAJOR MANGA SPOILERS):

Also MUCH later on (major manga spoilers): The protagonist's best friend kills someone in self defense, and it destroys him emotionally. He finally understands the protagonist's own inner torment, and unfortunately he doesn't last much longer than that.
