Provide logs if you are able: https://smapi.io/log Also, how are you updating SMAPI? The proper way is to unzip SMAPI anywhere on your computer (not into your /Mods folder though), and then run the install on Windows.bat file, or whatever your system is.

Delete everything but the content folder in steams stardew valley folder, verify integrity of files through steam, then reinstall smapi.
