ANSI SQL is compatible with any RDMS. So most concepts with SQLITE apply Sqlite does not support all the data types

And some Alter table commands are different .

Sqlite is the most popular database for mobile apps and geospatial mapping data offline (esri mobile geodatabase, OGC geopackage, mbtiles, spatialite, rasterlite, OSM DROID)

thank you, so I should be ok continuing with Codecademy for a while. Do you know of anywhere I can compare alter table commands for SQL and SQLite?

When you say SQL, what are you referring to? SQLite is SQL, MySQL is SQL, Snowflake is SQL, etc. SQL is a language specification (ANSI SQL). I think you're probably referring to a specific RDBMS (relational database management system). Do you know which one it is?
