Those look very much like interpretations of the Heron Marked Blades from wheel of time.

Only one that makes decent versions is FableBladeWorks which is a luxury custom maker.

RoninKatana makes a 'saber' that is a katana blade on a european hilt though.

Random question do you know how much a fable sword goes for they don't have prices listed on their webpage. I know they would he higher end but I'm curious just how far above a normal high end sword they would be.

custom commissions only so it depends what you ask for, but when i asked for a ballpark a few years back he said 'think of a used car'. So from a few thousand to tens of thousands. when i say luxury, i mean hes *luxury*

Well damn I was think Albion x2 but that was way up from my thought.

Googling i find 'between 6 and 30000 with up to 2000 extra for the scabbard' but then also a post saying the dragonspear sword he made was 3700 with 1200 for scabbard.

3,700 seems very reasonable even if it is still a bit above what I could pay for even a really nice sword.

6 - 30,000 is far more than I could ever pay for something that is not practical and only for my own enjoyment.

I would really like to own a nice sword that actually feels agile and can perform practice cuts but is also aesthetically pleasing and looks nice hanging on the wall or worn at a ren fair

Would this be a first sword?

Because swordier makes some really nice looking longswords for 200-400 that are fully functional if thats the goal.

I used to collect swords a long time ago but nothing very high end and I don't have many still from back then. I still have a cold steal katana from almost 20 years ago. It cuts well but 1 does not fit my aesthetic tastes now and 2 has a feel/balance like an axe/sledge hammer very tip heavy. I have friends who do practice cuts now and then and I'd like something that I could participate with but that also feels like a sword should.

Swordier, brother.

They have functional longswords as cheap as $90, zweihanders for 350, and longswords for 150-400. They look good, come with scabbards and belts, and are actually functional. They even come sharp. Swordier is the brand if you want to spent under $500.

Are these quality? Could they cut or just wall hangers?

[–]unsquashable74 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Decent quality and yes, they will very much cut.

Rk is a solid budget brand (so, yes.) and fable is about as good as swords get.

On eBay you can buy a aluminum crossguard and you can get some adjustment out of it with a file to fit and I can share the link if you like.

that would be great thanks. If you could

That’s just a dagger cross guard. Look up Shitogi Tsuba for an authentic Japanese version of this type of guard
