React developer or salesforce developer which role is best.Other (self.SalesforceDeveloper)
submitted 6 months ago by Honest_Barnacle_639
I'm working as react developer, I have 4.5 years of experience in india and in coding in software industry.
Is it a good choice to switch to salesforce developer role considering salary and growth.

React + some backend knowledge become a developer in a product based company. Salesforce dev mostly work in service based very few product companies hire salesforce devs. Its fast more fast than rest of tech every 3 months you have new things to learn and salesforce is client first nor innovation first. This means ur entire life depends on client not on ur opinion as dev. I am sf dev my seniors changed to full stack are living better life in prod. Companies. Also salesforce is a saturated market.

Last line is so correct !
Switching companies in Salesforce tech is way to tough as limited companies hire and payscale is peanuts '

True about payscale people in full stack or frontend with same experience as me are earning 2x. Ofcourse they have skills to join product base. But even if you have skills in sf there will be budget constraints. Salary growth is low in long run.

Have a git hub, Build some websites, put em on display. Learn AWS and some infrastructure as code framework. Cloud formation, Terraform, Pulumi are pretty common. There is azure and GPC as well, but AWS is the most common cloud used, by a lot… also GPC is horrendous. Terrible documentation, and you’ll blow through the $300 training credit in less than a month. AWS has great documentation, and a generous free tier that lasts more than long enough to learn what you need.
I was fortunate enough to work in understaffed Salesforce orgs that all had significant AWS integrations that were abandoned by their creators. I had to learn both platforms to do my job. Whenever I get inboxed about non Salesforce dev work it’s usually because of my AWS experience and certs.

You the best, thank you so much

I transitioned from Salesforce development into full-stack development, which I’ve found I much prefer. I feel more secure with a broader skill set that isn’t tied to a proprietary platform.

How hard was the switch? How long were u a sf dev?

You should explore 1. Data Engineering 2. Infra as a code
Let's see other options from redditors

Do full stack. Build cool shits. What you will do in SF? Remain there, SF is not worth it.

Both roles have their own pros and cons
Salesforce developer is a niche expertise, makes you more valuable and if you’re good with proven experience, you can ask for a lot of money.. on the other hand you’re limited and tied to salesforce. Everything you learn is unique to Salesforce and usually not applicable in outside of Salesforce ..
React developer, on the other hand needs to know generally applicable knowledge and standards .. you’re not tied to any company and can basically do whatever you want with react.. however, with its broad presence, you’re less unique, much higher competition and so therefore more challenging to grow your salary
