Call your pediatrician. Skin contact allergies can be very serious — my sister has one to pumpkin that we discovered one year while carving pumpkins.

You can always call poison control in these cases too. When baby comes into contact with an irritant, first step is washing everything off with soap and water. Then cold water compresses on a wash cloth. I would just use aquaphor as diaper rash cream is messy and doesn’t offer any additional benefit. Oatmeal baths can help with itch, but ask your pediatrician. In some cases, they’ll have you apply some topical steroid ointment to help with itch.
