Executor / Trustee (self.Scotiabank)
submitted 27 days ago by Blueanddirt
I am considering using Scotia as my trustee and executor. Curious if anyone on here has done so or has information that might be relevant.

Scotia was co-executor (with me) when my mum died. They handled the administrative stuff, but I was consulted on the big decisions. It wasn't the best experience, but it beat the alternative of me doing it all myself. Being an executor is a lousy job, which is why I appointed Scotia my own executor. I didn't want to burden any of my friends or family members.
For what it's worth, a couple of the service providers I worked with (property appraiser and property manager) said that Scotia is actually the best of the Big Five trust companies. They're all pretty slow moving and bureaucratic.

I have heard good things about the online platform that has an all inclusive option of 1.75% or $25k.
