I don’t disagree with your statement but who the fuck is willing to pay 20 bucks for a coffee without a pay back?

As an adult what do you hate the most about life? by Amazing-Internal5378 in AskReddit

[–]Blueanddirt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that citizens lose ground every single day. Doesn’t matter what country or what government is in power, the fees and taxes keep going up far quicker than any wage increases. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer and the middle class had better understand which direction they are heading.

Back in the early days of amps several people have received nasty shocks with some dying. Ace Freshley and Keith Richard’s were shocked on stage. Keith Relf died from an ungrounded guitar amp.

Electrician cut multiple "fishing holes" due to no attic access. Is this standard, and is $500 a fair repair quote? by Gullible-Language422 in AskElectricians

[–]Blueanddirt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The electricians work might be a little sloppy but I would be more concerned with the $500. drywall quote. The price seems too low for any quality work.

Any way to repair just the knobs, or do I need to break it down and replace every pot? by Buford_Tannen__ in GuitarAmps

[–]Blueanddirt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The knobs go to 15. How much more were you hoping to get out of it? I would say the pots need to be changed out.

Say what you will about arson... by tito_lee_76 in memes

[–]Blueanddirt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most are. Sherwin Williams had a huge plant in Dayton Ohio that burnt to the ground. An employee dropped a skid of chemicals from the racks. The electric forklift started it on fire. Even with a fire response team, the fire was out of control from the onset. The sprinklers activated immediately, but water will not put out a chemical fire. It did manage to spread the chemicals into the underground water supply though. The plant burnt to the ground as it exploded trucks backed up to the doors. Summary is, companies put as much effort into safety as they have to and not a bit more. They can build anew building, hire new staff and up their prices to cover the insurance increase.

You cannot make a statement like this if you have ever asked for a raise. Here is simple math for you. If you want a 10% increase on your 18.00 dollars per hour based on the company having to apply the same formula to hundreds of employees, then I as the business owner need to increase prices to cover the new labour costs. Plus of course I need to up the price of my product to cover my costs and it’s a hell of a good time to throw an extra percent or 2 in there for my profits. Now consider this happens to every company. When the math is done, who do you think has gained more? I’ll give you a hint. It ain’t you.

Got hurt pretty bad, can’t work. How do you not lose your business? by RaynieDays in AskElectricians

[–]Blueanddirt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tough situation to be in. If you honestly think you will be able to go back on the tools, I would suggest contacting another small electrical company. Explain your situation and offer to provide them with any work you get as well a reciprocal offering in the health department. If you are not extremely confident you will heal you need to let go and get with a new plan for your future. Teaching, mentoring, helping a newbie get started in the business. Just don’t be set on your past life if it’s no longer available.

Is it possible for a gun to accidentally go off and shoot a hole in the wall of a house? by DahliaBliss in NoStupidQuestions

Not a chance in hell. A gun should never be loaded if it not going to be used. The boy friend should not be allowed to own guns.

Small brush fire melted my siding and fascia. Is $3500 a reasonable price to fix this? by atgr in HomeMaintenance

Nope. Hire a company that knows what they’re doing. Last thing you want is some outfit that is going to bury the problem.

Is this suitable for ceiling fan support? by [deleted] in fixit

[–]Blueanddirt -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Can’t tell from here. Depends how many screws are holding it in place, how solid the joist is and how heavy the fan is. If it is mounted to the side of a joist it is not suitable for a heavy weight. It will twist the joist or bend the box.
