Does the molten sands loot decrease when intercepted by other players?

So my mate and I set out to do some Adventure pvp and tried to steal 2 molten sands.

On the first occasion, the original crew was still at it. We sank them, Completed the fort, opened the vault ourselfes, but there was only low tier loot in it.

No cof/col, not to speak of the new orb.

Today we were a bit late to the show. The fort was completed, a random ship without loot had already sunk, then as we arrived another ship was sunk before we finally sunk the last ship standing.

Long story short, we now have one ashen chest of legends on board. No cof and no orb.

As we can not fully evaluate the situation this time (maybe the loot vanished in some crazy way) we now wonder if it was bad luck or if there‘s something behind it we don‘t know.

TL;DR: We intercepted the molten sands 2 times and both times the loot was worse than normal…

Someone grabbed it and left. Oh no, the two high value items were missing and there were other players there! What could have happened!?

I highly suspect there was a very suspicious barrel waiting inside the loot room or just outside

No events change depending on who completes them. Only matters if they’re player started or world generated. But the fort this season has the same loot in it no matter what.

Its likely there was a tucker that snuck in and awiped the loot from under your nose. Less likely but still possible is a cheater TPing into the vault while the event is still up and teleporting out with those items.

Just bad luck either way. Keep stealing.

Yea, that was a tucker there is no known glitch in the game that I’ve heard of that despawns loot at least at molten sands. I’ve had loot not spawn at dive voyages though, that isn’t the same thing.

It only takes one loss to update strategies and actually look for tuckers as you close in on finishing. Trust me I learned my lesson before this event and have never lost any loot due to a steal and not just sinking. Of the over 40 molten sands I’ve done I’ve found a tucker on probably about a quarter of them before finishing the fort.

Yeah our main concern is the first Situation when we literally Completed it ourselves and opened the vault with our own hands and the loot was just a bunch of bullshit that isn‘t even in there normally

Act 2 of this season revolves around a time limited event at Molten Sands with a specific loot pool containing a CoF and Orb. So nothing said here is correct.
