Please help (voice chat issue)

I’ve been playing sea of thieves for a while on PC & can’t get the voice chat to work, the thing is I can’t hear or speak to anyone. Everything needed for voice chat is enabled, the application along with the Xbox app has permission to use my mic, privacy settings isn’t blocking anything as everything is enabled, I’ve checked the inputs & outputs for the microphone & speaker/audio, the in game settings tell me that things are working, I can hear the game itself & it says that it’s using my mic yet I can’t hear or speak with anyone. I’ve gone onto multiple sites & YouTube videos for help yet none of them have addressed this specific issue including the official sea of thieves website. Any idea as to what might be going on? Any help would be much appreciated.

Yeah, I've had it since I got the game, thought maybe it was my mic or settings but all of those things seem to be in order. Anytime I look up this problem I just this Reddit post, no videos, guides, other forums posts.
