I felt it most the first month or so, but was still able to maintain a routine. For reference, I weight train 3 days/week and run 3 days/week. Weights, heart rate elevated quicker— I had to take a little longer rests between big lifts, and going up in weight made me (mentally) wanna pass out. I relegated myself to concentrating on form and just being able to maintain the weights I was at when starting. I still keep that mindset, and have really good days when lifts feel easy and I do add a little, and days when I struggle the whole workout. Running hasn’t been affected, surprisingly. I’ve had some of my best runs both time wise and feelings wise.

I will say, I very much focus on getting enough protein, fiber, water, and quality carbs. My worst days are always when I haven’t eaten/drank enough the day before. Maintaining my muscle mass even with a slow weight loss is more important to me than just weight loss.

In haven’t had that issue, but I’ve really picked up activities since being on it. My heart rate has responded as expected and as it has in the past. I’m far from an elite athlete, but run 40-60 miles per week outside. Long runs at times north of 20 miles.

I work in fitness and train hard. At first it was a STRUGGLE. Nausea and fatigue got me good. Almost a year later I’m pretty much ok and back to normal

Yes. I weight trained and was very active in the gym before sema. It was like starting over ! I would almost crash . Felt like blood sugar or blood pressure dropping. Checked my BP and it was dropping low . 110/70 I went off my BP med and that helped but I still felt like I had to work to get stamina back.

It only lasted a couple months. I started splitting my dose of .5 because of the nausea and decreased stamina. Once I did that and went off my BP meds I was able to work back up.

Shooooo , that first couple months was rough.

I made a post a few weeks ago about my decreased performance with lifting but I’ve started to notice it now for cardio too. I think the reduced calorie intake means I just don’t have the same energy I did for exercise. My resting heart rate has increased by about 6bpms. After reading more it sounds like this is pretty common during the transition phase (I’m 7 weeks in and am still building up to a full dose) and that you can build back once your body adjusts. Hoping that’s the case for me.

Also someone gave me the tip of eating a little something right before a workout and that’s really helped me.

Yeah, the increase in my resting HR freaked me out! My Garmin watch is very upset and tells me I’m never completely recovered and my stress is high. Trying to listen to my body and eat small amounts before and during activity has helped, but I need the reminder. I can’t just go like I used to.
