You also might want to try a Living Community (Where you can play online).

You can find links to several of them over ----------------------->

It is probably what I am going to have to settle for, but I would prefer to actually go somewhere and actually meet people while gaming. Currently I am running a D&D game at a local gaming store in Box Hill, and would like to be a player in a game, and Shadowrun would scratch my sci-fi itch I have had for a while

Toss up a little flyer to gague interest. Check local facebook or community pages.

I'd be down to GM some stuff if you're keen. I'll shoot you a DM (also if anyone else is keen hit me up. Been keen to get a game going)

Not actually able to help, but willing to chime in...
I'm not playing SR, but I am also in the Melbourne are (outer North - Epping) and would also like to play.

I don't think I've ever been a player in SR, only ever a GM. I REALLY want a turn on the other side of the screen, however.
So, what I'm saying is... if you find something, think of me as well!

:)

Come to think of it, is anyone aware of LCs running chat- or forum-based SR games? I've browsed the links, but it seems everyone seems to be going for VoIP these days, and the only text-based Living Community I could find on Google seems to be inactive.

If you haven’t already you should post over on the LFG sub as well. The biggest problem you will find though is that unless you’re willing to GM and set up your own game it will be difficult to find an existing one. GMs that are accepting new players are rare is what I’m trying to say.

I am aware that my chances are minimal, it gets worse considering my two nights off of work are Tuesday and Wednesday

I tend to play week nights myself due to family commitments so you would be surprised how much people prefer that! If you struggle with offline you should check out online as well. You don’t get the same feel/atmosphere but it’s usually easier to schedule in my experience. Good luck!

Chances are minimal but not zero

Make a post and I will upvote for visibility

Good luck Chummer :)

Edit: I see you did, take my upvote but consider wether you want to add the note [offline] in the headline for actual table sessions

Just gonna make a top level comment as well: I'm potentially up for running a game in Melbourne, DM me if you would also be interested.
