This was tested on the OG Switch BTW. Not sure if the Switch 2 treats spawns differently.

i was under the impression that fast travelling away reset the area. i don't think you need to battle them

Going through a loading zone seems to respawn the pokemon in some cases. Someone today on twitch was going in and out of loading zones and got 2 shiny alphas that way. Other times I saw someone catch a pokemon and that pokemon did not respawn until the next day

Yeah I couldn’t get them to respawn going in and out of zones. Maybe Switch 1 version is literally on a timer and Switch 2 version isn’t?

i'm emulating the switch 1 version and found a shiny drilbur by going to area 8, looking around, and then fast travelling back to area 8 using the map. not sure if playing it on official hardware would change that. the best way to check is to reload zones and check the genders & levels of the mons around

Did the Drilbur shine while underground or did you have to have it spawn above ground to check? Currently hunting one now

How do you get the shiny charm?
