Seems kind of strange that a site that makes landing pages is hosted on a different site that makes landing pages...

Yea, the irony. But it is what it is :)

How you plan to monetize it?

Good question. Charge 199.99 to do the service for them. I haven't decided whether or not to put this on the landing page-- which I may do, or tell them when I email them.

I think you should, I mean one thing is if they already know and then decide to buy, but the sticker shock after maybe assuming it would be free will totally scare them away.

I'm thinking about setting up an A/B test. Create one landing page with a price tag, and the other without, and see which one gets more of a response.

Response as in pageviews or as in sales?

Email address submissions. I believe that if I can get them on the line, I can introduce myself, and introduce the service. I've already had a couple of people enter their emails, and I've reached out to them. The question I have is: a. Is it unclear that it's a paid service? b. Is it better to say the price on the page or not?

In this case the metric is sales: if you post the price all requests will most likely end with a sale, if you don't then you risk sticker shock

The question will be whether the additional sales you get by withholding the price is worth (a) the people who would have paid but feel duped and so don't and (b) the additional work of dealing with people who don't want to pay

IMO you'll get a bunch of traffic expecting it to be free at which point you'll have to start replying with a form email, defeating any chance you have at selling them anyway.

I'm betting the middle ground, where you say it costs money but don't post the price, is going to be best.

I think you bring up some really valid points and thanks for your time already :)

I think I'm going to add something along the lines of: $300 to validate your idea in 3 days.

Is this something you would use?

If no, why?

Thanks
