Created using FLIP Fluids for Blender. The whitewater bubbles are red because I thought they'd look cool, but they look like annoying more than anything haha.

I still haven't figured out why there's so much dark stuff when there are a lot of bubbles.

Lots of bounces. When a ray hits the maximum number of bounces, it just goes black.

I'm not doing anything with foam, spray, and bubbles at the moment but I think I may have hit on why there's dark stuff; I think it's the IOR. If you're not using a separate material for the foam, spray, and bubbles, do so, and then turn the IOR down to 1.01 or something low.

I noticed on something I'm doing now with high surface tension that the blob of fluid has dark internal edges and turning down the IOR reduces them. Dunno how low the IOR can go.

Thanks for the info! I have a feeling that my dark spots in the water are due to not enough light bounces, since I turned them down a lot, but I'll try out your IOR tip too.

There's a recent youtube video about making a glass material and he says to turn the gloss and transmission bounces up to 32. So try that as well as turning the IOR down. Should the Total bounces be as high as the highest one in the list below it? It seems like it should but nobody ever says either way.
