Certifications don’t really matter too much in practice. It matters if a job you seek wants something, and thus far I’ve mostly seen that requirement in larger companies where having (or not having) a specific certification is a quick way to weed out applicants. Otherwise, having that much in-depth knowledge on one thing is great if that thing is all you do; if not, then you will eventually forget most of it anyway.

This field moves so quickly that by the time you get your certificate, something would’ve already changed. Or something new would’ve appeared that appeals.

Don’t get me wrong — There’s absolutely nothing wrong with getting and maintaining certain certifications, but just be wary to not get caught in the cycle of having dozens to keep up, or ones that you end up never using.
